Lilianna Engel – MD, second-degree specialist in clinical psychology, certified psychotherapist and supervisor of the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the Polish Psychiatric Association. She is a Balint group leader at the Polish Balint Society. She is a therapist of psychosomatic patients certified by the Polish Medical Association. She is a certified trainer of psychological group trainings and a training specialist. For many years she worked in the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw in the Clinic of Neuroses under the supervision of Prof Stefan Leder and Prof Maria Siwiak-Kobayashi. She was the scientific head of the training in the area of psychotherapy in the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. In 2003-2007 she was the President of the Warsaw branch of the Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of the
Polish Psychiatric Association. At present she works in the outpatient clinic of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology and has her private practice. She conducts individual and group therapies, psychologists’ own therapies, supervision of psychotherapy trainees and she does research on the effectiveness of the psychotherapy. She is the author of publications on the role of the psychologist in the healthcare and the psychotherapy of patients with neurotic and stress-related disorders as well as therapy for homosexual persons and patients with Gilles de la Tourette syndrome. She is the author or co-editor of a few chapters of the monograph “BALINT GROUP TRAINING. Theory and Application.”
